I Want to Donate Firewood
At EChO, even firewood can be a lifeline. We have a wood lot on site that is managed by our food pantry and staffed by volunteer lumberjacks. Firewood is available year-round, depending on supply, and is offered to registered EChO clients who use wood as their primary or secondary heat source.
Through the dedication of 15 volunteer lumberjacks, we process and deliver nearly 100 cords of firewood each year—all of it donated by generous homeowners and tree service companies.
This all-volunteer program provides split firewood at no cost to more than 100 households annually who rely on wood to heat their homes during Evergreen’s long, cold winters.
Firewood is available year-round, depending on supply, and is offered to EChO clients who use wood as their primary heat source.
Together, we’re chopping, stacking, and delivering warmth—one cord at a time.
Our program exists because of firewood donations from our community. All firewood donations need to be coordinated by the Food Pantry Manager or Director of Operations.
Split firewood is available to active EChO clients who use wood as their primary or supplemental heat source. We don’t supply firewood for recreational uses like campfires, bonfires, firepits, etc. Clients are responsible for loading and transporting firewood.
Firewood Donation Requirements
Before You Submit Your Firewood Donation
Thank you for helping EChO provide firewood to local families who rely on wood heat. Because our volunteers have limited time and storage space, all firewood donations must meet the following requirements:
- Firewood must be at least one year old. We cannot accept freshly cut or green wood.
- EChO does not provide pickup for firewood donations. Donors are responsible for transporting and delivering approved firewood to EChO.
- Please upload a photo of the firewood with your donation form. This allows our team to review the wood before making arrangements for your donation.
- Firewood must be suitable for burning and free of construction debris, paint, chemicals, nails, hardware, or other contaminants.
- Please do not donate fresh, untreated beetle-kill firewood.
- Please do not bring firewood to EChO without first receiving approval. All firewood donations must be coordinated with the EChO Food Pantry Manager or Director of Operations.
Photo Required
A photograph of the firewood is required with your submission. Please provide a clear photo showing the overall condition and quantity of the wood.
Once we receive your form and photo, our team will review the donation and contact you with next steps.
